The
admissions process is extremely competitive. The program typically
receives over 130 applications for seven to eight openings
each year, and students are only admitted to begin fall term.
Applicants typically possess a background in psychology or
education, represent diverse areas of the United States, possess second language skill, cultural immersion experiences and
vary in age and experiences. Applicants may have either a
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree when they apply
to the program. Some background in psychology is preferred,
but neither a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
psychology is required. The average undergraduate GPA of the admitted students is 3.43 and the average GRE total score is 1154.79.
Residency and Grade Requirements
Graduate students must be continuously enrolled until all program
requirements are complete. Three consecutive quarters
(Fall, Winter, and Spring) of at least nine credit hours each quarter is required
the first year at the University. Graduate students must maintain at least a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) in graduate
courses taken in the degree program.
